Voxonet

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

This policy explains the personal data processed when you use the Voxonet mobile app. Voxonet is a reading and listening app that gives you access to the publications you own; it shows no prices, offers no sales and has no in-app purchases.

1. Who we are and what this covers

The controller of your personal data is H. Alp Karaosmanoğlu, trading as Psikonet, a psychology publisher based in Istanbul, Türkiye, which operates the Voxonet library. He is also the contact for data protection questions. For any question or request about your personal data, reach us at info@psikonet.com or through the Voxonet Support page.

Because we are established outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we apply this policy to everyone: it is written to meet the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR where they apply to you, Turkish data protection law (KVKK) where it applies, and United States state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA.

This document covers the account, library, reading and listening functions of the Voxonet app. Buying, payment, invoicing and delivery on voxonet.com are covered by the notices and terms published on that site.

2. Data we process

3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis

We process data to create and protect your account, to give you access to the publications granted to you, to carry your progress across devices, to provide bookmarks and similar app functions, to prevent security incidents, to improve the service and to answer support requests.

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract for your account, your library and the reading and listening functions; legitimate interests for keeping the service secure, preventing abuse and understanding aggregate usage so we can improve it; legal obligation where we must keep records; and consent for anything that asks for it, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting processing already carried out.

Usage data inside Voxonet is not used for advertising targeting or for in-app selling. We do not use third-party advertising trackers and we do not profile you for marketing. If a feature that needs a device permission is added, its purpose is explained separately before the permission is requested.

4. Service providers and transfers

Voxonet uses Google Firebase services for authentication, database, file storage, server functions and app analytics. Through those services data may be processed to operate, secure and technically support the service.

We are established in Türkiye and our provider processes data in data centres that include the European Union and the United States, so your data is transferred outside your own country. Türkiye is not covered by a UK or EU adequacy decision, so where the UK or EU GDPR applies we rely on appropriate safeguards — the Standard Contractual Clauses, and the UK Addendum for UK transfers — together with the security measures described here. Where the KVKK applies, we act within its provisions on transfers abroad. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards at the contact address above.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with authorised service providers where necessary to deliver the service, or with public authorities legally entitled to it.

5. Retention, deletion and closing your account

We keep data for as long as it is needed for your account and for the delivery of the service, and for any statutory retention periods we are subject to. The Delete My Account option in the app permanently deletes your account, your library, your bookmarks and your reading or listening progress; local notes and downloaded offline content on that device are cleared as well. Order and invoice records subject to a statutory retention obligation may be kept separately from this deletion.

If you cannot reach the app, you can use the web request route on the Voxonet Account and Data Deletion page.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Send your request, together with information that lets us verify your identity, to info@psikonet.com, or use the route on the Voxonet Support page. We answer within one month where the GDPR applies, and within the periods set by the applicable law elsewhere. Using an authorised agent is fine where the law allows it.

7. Children

Voxonet is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 — under 13 in the United States. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to info@psikonet.com and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy when the service or the legislation changes. The current version is published on this page; where necessary, significant changes are also announced inside the app.
